‘You Da One Mix’ group earns regional awards, goes to nationals

Lisa Logan, owner/director of Show Biz Dance Studio in Muskogee, recently announced the achievements of one of her groups taught and choreographed by dance instructor Trista Snook.

The hip hop group known as “You Da One Mix” competed at Talent On Parade Competition Regional Finals at Rose State College in Oklahoma City in March. At that competition, the seven-member group was honored with the following awards:

• Elite top first place trophy in the Teen/Sr. Small Group Hip Hop category.

• Second place overall high points award in the Teen/Sr. Division.

The group qualified for National Finals, which were held in June at the Tulsa Convention Center.

At the national level with more than 1,000 acts competing, the group won:

• Elite top first place trophy in Teen/Sr. Hip Hop Small Group category in the Teen/Sr. Division.

In previous years, this group has attended Stage One Dance Competition, Odyssey and Rainbow Connection Regional and National Finals, where they have won many high first place and overall awards in jazz, tap, lyrical ballet, clog, hip hop and musical theatre.
