Local author Lottie Hufford will be conducting a book signing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at The Garden Gate in Gore.
Hufford has written two books. She and her husband, Dr. Stan Hufford, a chiropractor, gave away 1,000 copies of her first book, “Lottie’s Reflections,” to help others.
Her new book, “God’s Talking Child Rocks,” aims to help children relate experiences that happened to them, through rocks, and to have the rocks identify some of their emotions.
“This unique book would be a very good addition to the various settings where young children are found visiting or playing, such as libraries, doctor’s or counselor’s offices, homes, etc.,” Dr. Sue Williams, a professor in family and child development at Texas State University, said in a media release. “This collection of stories based on the use of rocks, an object children are familiar with and value, is an excellent way to convey to them a message of understanding, acceptance, and love.”
Hufford is working on another children’s book.
She will also be showing her oil paintings and selling her books at Arts on the Avenue on June 7-8 in Tahlequah.
Dining is available at Emily’s Tea Room inside the Garden Gate.
