Keystone Study Club

Keystone Study Club will meet at 1 p.m. Monday in the home of Ann Kent. Charlotte Crank will present the program. Dianne Haralson, Nan Glenn and Jane Lopes will present current events.

Muskogee Civitan Club

The Muskogee Civitan Club held its installation and awards banquet for 2012-13 at Cowboys BBQ on Sept. 29.

The new slate of officers and board members are: Malcolm Moore, president; Karen Greer, president elect; Stephen Ezell, secretary and Betty Jean Honea, treasurer. Board members include Betty Franks, Ron Slauenwhite, Leon Waters, Esther Vaughn, Winnie Bowman ad Kay Borovetz.

The officers and board members were sworn in by Don Garrison, past Muskogee Civitan President and an officer of the Civitan International. Numerous award were given during the ceremony including plagues to the previous president and secretary.

The club meets at noon on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at the Civitan Park Clubhouse, 3301 Gibson.

Kiwanis Club

Muskogee Kiwanis Club met Sept. 27 at Cowboys BBQ for 2012–13 officer installation banquet.

Denise Deason-Toyne, division 31 lt. governor of Texas-Oklahoma district, presided as installation officer.

 Officers installed were T. J. Ellis, president; Oscar Field, past president; and Dan Clem, secretary/treasurer.

Directors are Bob James, Glenn Young, Paul Grice, Bob Fisher and Jim Stark.

The Muskogee Kiwanis Club meets at noon each Thursday at Cowboys.

Delta Sigma Theta

The Muskogee Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated had a successful voter registration drive Sept. 29 at Arrowhead Mall. The group signed up 33 people, two of which were 18 and 81 years old, first time voters.

On October 20., the group will partner with Women of Worth (W.O.W) of New Balm Outreach Ministies to present its second annual Cancer Awareness Seminar at the Muskogee Public Library. The event is free and open to the public. It will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be held in the first floor conference room.

Guest speakers include a representative from the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. There will also be door prizes and refreshements.

The Muskogee Alumnae Deltas will wear a pink ribbon each Friday in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
