The Muskogee Chapter of the National Association of Retired and Current Federal Employees will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd.

Guest speaker will be Misty Dinegarten, of the U.S. Marshall Service in Muskogee.

All federal employees, members and guests are invited. A door prize will be drawn.

Alpha Theta Chapter 1038

Alpha Theta Chapter 1038 of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International will meet Wednesday in the home of Elise Jimison. Educational Director Marjorie Szabo has announced that Shiron Butterfly Ray will be the speaker at 7 p.m. Ray will give the history of the Bare Bones Festival and present information on current and future plans. The Bare Bones Festival will be April 5-14 at the Muskogee Civic Center. Clu Gulagher will be inducted into the Hall of Fame and will also be the grand marshal of the Azalea Parade on April 13.

President Joan Eaton will call for reports from the ways and means chairperson and the philanthropic chairperson. A report will be given on the recent District V meeting held in Muskogee. The Nominating Committee will present the slate of officers for the 2013-14 year. Members are reminded to bring items for the local food pantry.

Muskogee Area Quilters Guild

The March meeting of the Muskogee Area Quilters Guild will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Nash Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, Fifth and Broadway streets.

The club will be having a yard sale, so bring quilt related items to sell, and shopping at others’ tables is allowed. Items should be priced before the meeting, and change will not be provided. There will also be a Scrappy Quilt Pattern review.

The learning opportunity will be a fast, easy way to make a receiving blanket and will start at 5:30 pm in Nash Hall. Bring a needle, thread (any color), small scissors, a few pins, a marker or pencil and a small square or triangle ruler. The fabric will be pre-cut and ready to pin together.
