Great Western at Roxie tonight

“The Searchers” starring John Wayne will be shown at 7 p.m. tonight as part of the summer movie classics. The movie was released in 1956 and is widely considered the greatest American Western ever made.

The cost is $2, and concessions will be available.

A movie will be shown each Thursday at the Roxy. Admission will be $2.

Upcoming movies:

• Sept. 26 — “North by Northwest.”

• Oct. 3 — “Nightmare on Elm Street 4.” This is a special event and will cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Actor Andras Jones will be attending.

• Oct. 10 — “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.”

• Oct. 17 — “King Kong.”

• Oct. 24 — “Frankenstein.”

• Oct. 25 “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Showtime for this movie is 8 p.m. and is for mature audience only.

• Oct. 31 — “Psycho” and “The Mummy.”
