Wiseman attains Eagle Scout

Jeffery Wiseman recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Wiseman is a scout in troop 602.

Among other requirements, an Eagle Scout must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges and plan, develop, and lead a service project — the Eagle Project — that demonstrates both leadership and a commitment to duty.

Wiseman’s project was rebuilding the Haven House on Broadway.

The Haven House is a place for women who have a spouse hospitalized at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center and who need to get out of the hospital for a while, take a shower, wash a load of clothes or sleep.

The four-bedroom home sleeps 13 people and has a kitchen, living room and two bathrooms.

There is a washer and dryer for their use as well.

Wiseman is the son of Larry and Laura Wiseman.

His sponsor was the Rev. Thea McKee of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Scout leaders are Randy and Leisa Wroblewski.
