Piano students participate in auditions

— Muskogee-area piano students recently participated in the National Guild of Piano Auditions, which was held at the Muskogee Public Library. The judge was Carol Peterson, who is a private piano teacher in Broken Arrow. She is a member of Oklahoma Music Teachers Association, Broken Arrow Music Teachers Association and National Guild of Piano Teachers and is a frequent judge for all these organizations.

Students receiving Pledge membership for playing one piece were: Ryann Lee, Adison Steeley, Annie Miller, Isabella Locke, Lauren Hsieh and Amanda Mureck.

Earning Local (two-three pieces) membership were: Arden Coggburn, Angel Cortez, Lacey Ullrich, Coda Bunch, Emma Hatfield, Reece Coward, Landren Martin, Michelle Grooms, Caitlin Felts and Peyton Chebahtah.

Receiving District (four-six pieces) membership were: Emma Roach, Erin Miller LaQuerre, Isaiah Starr, Jane Miller LaQuerre, Emma Holmes, John Mark Jardine, Daniel Cheong, Camryn Runyan, Blake Simmons, Skylar Simmons, Ethan Frazier, Trenten Martin, Brenden Martin, Jared Grooms, Sara Wilson, Kinley Wilson, Cate York, James Morris, Jeramy Hunter, Rachel Throgmorton, Anna Mix and Abby Mix.

Earning State (seven-nine pieces) membership were: Hunter Chaffin, Rebekah Harlin, Meredith Gilmartin and Bailey Tull.

Earning National (10 pieces) were: Denise Kimball, Annie Lindsay, Nathan Harlin, David Harlin, Lydia Harlin, and Heidi Schell.

Nathan Harlin will be the recipient of the Paderewski Medal for playing 10 pieces for 10 years. David Harlin has played 10 pieces for 5 years.

Receiving Hobbyist certificates were Laura Jardine and Chris Gilmartin.

Teachers participating were Bethany Harlin and Nancy Shelton of Muskogee, Teresa Pointer of Wagoner, and Sally Lewis of Tahlequah.
