2013 essay contest winners named

— Delta Kappa Gamma Epsilon chapter met at Muskogee Public Library  on March 9 to award the 2013 Essay Contest winners. The essay contest was open to seventh- and eighth-grade students in Oklahoma. The topic was “What do you think the world will look like in 100 years?”

Students read their essays aloud to family, teachers, and club members. They received certificates, cash awards, and the winner will compete at the state level.

The first, second, and third place winners: Shannon Johnstone (Alice Robertson), Jared Town (Alice Robertson), and Gabby Tucker (Warner).

Honorable Mentions went to Lexi Ferguson (Warner) and Daniel Cheong (St. Joseph).
