Troupe qualified for National Finals

Lisa Logan, owner/director of Show Biz Dance Studio in Muskogee, recently announced the achievements of one of her groups at recent competitions that she taught and choreographed.

The five-member character jazz group known as “Witch Doctor” competed at Talent On Parade Regional Finals at Rose State College in Oklahoma City in March. At that competition, the group was honored with the following awards:

• Elite top first trophy in the 9/10-Year-Old-Jr. Jazz division.

• Second place overall high points award in the Junior Age division.

The group qualified for National Finals, which were held in June at the Tulsa Convention Center.

At the national level with more than 1,000 acts competing, the group won:

• Elite top first place in the 9/10-Year-Old Character Jazz division.

• Fourth place overall in the Junior High Points division.

This group also competed in past two years at Stage One Dance Competition National Finals that were held in Branson Mo. At that competition they were honored with a high gold first place and a first place overall high points award, which qualified them to perform in the “Best of the Best Shoot Out Performance,” where the best of 700 acts compete for the top awards. They were one of 10 groups chosen in the Petite Age division to compete.
