‘Jim Thorpe’ movie at Roxy tonight

“Jim Thorpe — All American” starring Burt Lancaster will be shown at 7 p.m. tonight as part of the summer movie classics. The movie was released in 1951, and several scenes from the movie were filmed at Bacone College.

The Three Rivers History Explorers will give a short presentation by Roger Bell. Bell’s presentation will focus on the history of the movie and its specific history relating to Muskogee.

The Roxy was one of the theaters of the movie’s world premiere in 1951.

The cost is $2, and concessions will be available.

A movie will be shown each Thursday at the Roxy. Admission will be $2.
