Green Country Duplicate Bridge

Green Country Duplicate Bridge meets at 12:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd. Newcomers are welcome. If you are interested in playing or learning to play duplicate bridge, call Ann Kent at (918) 682-3098, Mary Smith at (918) 682-2605, or Sandy Cole at (918) 684-9002.

• Aug. 28 — Renee Tyrrell and Bill Porter, first; Janice Chance and Helen Richmond, second; and Dean Cousparis and Nettie Kaad, third.

• Aug. 30 — Joan Chapman and Carol Ketchum, first; and Ann Kent and Ann Kuykendall tied with Linda Stearns and Norma Kolmer for second.

Checotah Lions Club

The Checotah Lions Club will begin its new year with a meeting at noon Thursday at the Church of Christ fellowship building at 309 E. Gentry Ave. The club has changed its meeting times to the second Thursday of each month at noon and the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 a.m.

A breakfast meeting was added because some members and visitors cannot attend a noon meeting. An abundance of food at each meeting will be prepared by Lion Mitch Foreman with help from Lion volunteers. The club's year runs from September through the second Thursday in June.

Visitors are always welcome at meetings.

Keystone Study Club

Keystone Study Club will have its first fall meeting at 1 p.m. Monday at McEntee’s. Martha Stoodley will host the meeting and serve a special menu of German food. The program will be presented by Dianne Haralson. Dues for the coming year will be collected.

Muskogee Area Quilters Guild

Muskogee Area Quilters Guild meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, 500 West Broadway. Join us this month for a wonderful Trunk show Featuring MeadowLyon’s Magical Theme Quilts. Judy Lyon will present the newest and best quilts all designed in the “Theme Quilt” way. The club will discover how to use distinctive patterns by pulling compatible patterns together to create a finished quilted masterpiece. Visit www.meadowlyon.com for more information.
