Toastmaster Eric Strocen was recently inducted into the Alpha Chi Honor Society at Bacone College. Only students in the top 10 percent of their field of study are invited. Toastmasters meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 at Three Rivers Museum, 220 Elgin Ave. Information:

Daughters of the American Revolution

The Muskogee Indian Territory Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will meet June 21 in the DAR meeting room in the Lucy Peters Room at Bacone College campus. Lunch will be served at 12:30. Business meeting at 1 p.m., followed by installation of officers and welcoming of new members. After the meeting, a trolley will be waiting for a trip to Fort Gibson to view the grave of Montfort Stokes, who is known for helping to settle Indian Territory.This is the last meeting of the chapter before summer break. Visitors are welcome. DAR was founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., and is a non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children. Women’s Club

The June meeting of the Tenkiller Women's Club will be at noon June 18. It will be held at the Princess Drive In, south of Tahlequah on Oklahoma 82.

The program will be given by Steve and Nancy Tharp, and there will be a slide presentation. All women are invited to attend and of course, join the club if desired.

All members are urged to bring non-perishable food for the Cookson Baptist Church Helping Hands Ministry. Also, they are in need of gently used summer clothing.

Green Country Duplicate Bridge

Green Country Duplicate Bridge meets at 12:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd. New players are always welcome. If interested, call Ann Kent, (918) 682-3098, Mary Smith at (918) 682-2605, or Sandy Cole, (918) 684-9002. Winners on June 4 were Sandy Cole and Santa McWilliams first; Renee Tyrrell and Bill Porter tied with Nettie Kaad and Janice Chance for second place. June 6, Joan Chapman and Carol Ketchum were first; Ruth Sharpe and Fran Martin second; Linda Stearns and Norma Kolmer third. Linda Stearns and Norma Kolmer were first on June 9; Fran Martin and Joan Chapman were second; Ann Kent and Jane Lopes were third.

Republicans and Conservatives

 McIntosh County Republicans and Conservatives are having their monthly meeting on at 7 p.m. June 16, at the Eufaula Library. Guest speaker is Congressman Markwayne Mullin. Also speaking is Brian Barton, representative for Congressman James Lankford.

All are encouraged to attend and be active on the grassroots level. Refreshments will be served.

Club news runs on Sundays. The deadline for club news is noon Wednesday.
