At its regular meeting Monday night, the Fort Gibson board of trustees:
Utilities Authority agenda
• Heard about recent flooding problems near Capital St. Apartments from Jana Tidwell. Tidwell also discussed trash accumulation on town property near the apartments and offered to recruit volunteers to help clean it up if the town would provide trash bags or a dumpster. The board of trustees agreed to provide the bags or dumpster and promised to look into the flooding problems.
• Approved $24,951.79 payroll paid March 28.
• Approved $23,123.30 payroll paid April 11.
• Pre-appoved $25,000 payroll to be paid April 25.
• Accepted resignation of Chris Harris as a water treatment plant operator.
• Tabled action regarding fencing the water treatment plant.
• Approved hiring Dian Tibbles as a full-time deputy clerk.
Board of Trustees agenda
• Approved $31,841.74 payroll paid March 28.
• Approved $32,458.71 payroll paid April 11.
• Pre-approved $35,000 payroll to be paid April 25.
• Tabled action on realigning fence on east side of cemetery. Dick Sheffield, who owns the property to the east, said he will sell the town his property where the town has dug graves over the year. He said he will accept the price he agreed to several years ago for the land and will donate the cost of a barbed wire fence although he wants a chain link fence built to stop debris from blowing onto his property.
• Accepted the resignation of Chris Rogers as a police officer.
• Tabled discussion of repairs to Georgetown and County Line roads. Town officials are discussing with County Commissioner Gene Wallace and Cherokee Nation officials the possibility of getting financial assistance with the road improvements.
• Appointed Debbie Daniels, Don Lewis and Brad Clinkenbeard as a committee to screen applicants to serve as the architect for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation grant.
• Took no action on hiring Lee Phillips as a part-time police officer or on promoting Jason Steele from part-time to full-time police officer.
