Published May 13, 2008 12:31 pm - School names top seniors By Cathy Spaulding Times Staff Writer Each of the five seniors graduating with the highest honors at Fort Gibson High School has had her own route to success. • Christina Lanham is graduating with a 3.9 grade point average and has been involved in the National Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society, Math and Science Club and Students Against Destructive Decisions. Also active in the drama club, she was a stage manager for theater productions this year. Lanham plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma and major in finance. She said her secret to success is “being dedicated to what I am doing, then getting involved.” “You should always try to get involved in activities, make a name for yourself,” she said. • Michelle Loken has been active on the student council for four years while participating on the swim team. “That takes up most of my time,” she said. She also has been involved in the youth group at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Loken said she plans to attend Oklahoma State University, possibly going into engineering or architecture. “It is important to stay on task and motivated,” she said. • Christin Cox has been involved in the National Honor Society and the Math and Science Club. She also was makeup artist for the past seven or eight theater productions and was active on the varsity soccer team. Cox plans to attend John Brown University and major in construction management. She said she’s not sure what to say is her secret to success. “I just expected to do well in school,” she said. I love school. I love learning. One of the things I am really competitive in is academics.” • Darcie Dieman has been a 4-H Ambassador and was a member of several honor societies. She also was a delegate to Oklahoma Girls State. She was active on the FGHS girls’ soccer team.
