Sexton joins Angus group

 

Riley Sexton of Fort Gibson is a new junior member of the American Angus Association said chief executive officer Bryce Schumann.

Junior members of the association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events.

The American Angus Association is the largest beef-breed association in the world, with more than 24,000 active adult and junior members. Its headquarters are located in Saint Joseph, Mo.

Morgan completes basic training

Air Force Airman Kadizsha Morgan graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Morgan completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science Degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Morgan is a 2012 graduate of Fort Gibson High School. She is the daughter of Edgar McNac Jr. of Fort Gibson.

Volunteers sought for tax prep

AARP Taxaide needs volunteers to do taxes for 2013.

Classes to learn how to prepare tax forms will be in January, and tax season will start the first of February.
