Thanks for response to Christmas ornaments

I’d like to first thank everyone for their response to our annual Fort Gibson Christmas ornament, with a special thanks to those businesses that helped us sell them, namely SonBurst Graphics, Fort Gibson State Bank, Armstrong Bank, Valu-Med Pharmacy, Town Hall, and Granny’s Porch.

All locations have sold out of them, however, the chamber has two of this year’s ornament available featuring the Grand River Bridge. All other years are sold out, with the exception of a few of last year’s, featuring Centennial Park and the town Christmas tree. Again, thanks to everyone for your response to these ornaments, that began in 2008. We are open to suggestions for next year’s ornament. Let us hear from you.

We are still a ways out, but would invite everyone to get Feb. 6 marked on your calendar, for our annual Chamber Banquet, scheduled 6:30 p.m. at the River Center at Three Forks Harbor. As always, there will be a great meal, silent auction, entertainment and guest speaker. The banquet is open to everyone, and admission is only $20 per person. More specifics will be going out in early January, but don’t forget to mark your calendars now. Also, watch for the membership renewals and Board of Directors ratification notice mailing out the first week of January.

And finally, for the month of January, our Weekly Chamber Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. each Thursday, beginning Jan. 2 at The Courtyard Bistro. Come join us for great food, great conversation, and even greater association with friends. Our weekly luncheon, which is now in its seventh year, is open to everyone, and we never have any structured format, no official business or demands for membership. It is just a time for friends to get together and enjoy each other’s company, conversation and lunch. We rotate the luncheon around the various eateries in Fort Gibson each month. Come join us and experience the fun.

As we close out 2013, I want to thank the community for your support this past year and take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe, most joyous, and blessed New Year. Our sincere desire is that May 2014 be all you want it to be for you and your family.
