The week of the chamber’s annual banquet is upon us. This annual event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the River Center at Three Forks Harbor & Marina.
Everyone is invited, and we promise an evening of fun, food, and enlightenment. The evening will kick off with the customary “silent auction,” where everyone will have a chance to make blind bids on several neat offers, merchandise, and services.
Before the dinner of brisket and grilled chicken, catered by Darren Kilpatrick and his crew at Kilharen’s Lodge, we will enjoy an opening prayer by Justin Young, 2014 Chamber Board of Directors president, and the National Anthem, sung by Carrigan Bradley.
Following dinner, the band Ser, made up of Fort Gibson students, will perform. Following their entertainment, David Fowler from the Historic Site will share information regarding the old fort.
At the end of the evening, silent auction winners will be announced, and the chamber will present the Teacher of the Year awards to some very special teachers at Fort Gibson Schools.
In all, a very delightful evening for the cost of only $20 per person. Payment can be made at the door, and an RSVP is not required. We encourage everyone to come out, and bring your guests. We look forward to seeing you all there.

For the month of January, we have been enjoying a great crowd at our Weekly Chamber Luncheons, held at 11:30 a.m. each Thursday at the Courtyard Bistro.
This past week, we had Justin Young, wife Lauren, and son Weston Young, Tonia Cooper, Denise Bain, Melinda Williams, Sue Edwards, Nikki Vahdatipour, Cheryl Hill, Shelly Holderby, and myself in attendance. Additionally, Chamber Board of Directors Vice President David Perry, along with wife Sara, daughter Hannah, and Budo and Sue Perry, were at a table close to us, and certainly with us in spirit.
We appreciate the hospitality we received from Kristie and James Neblitt and their crew at the Courtyard Bistro & Bakery, throughout the month of January.
For the month of February, our Weekly Chamber Luncheon will move to Simple Simon’s Pizza on South Lee Street.
So, come join us and enjoy the great food prepared by Jim Huggins and his crew at 11:30 a.m. each Thursday in February at Simple Simon’s.

This past week, we received annual membership renewals from Doss Briggs at BRB, the Muskogee Phoenix/Fort Gibson Times, Dr. Michael Nelson DDS, Fort Gibson Schools, Advance Workzone Services, Oklahoma Natural Gas, and ServiceMaster X Recovery Services.
We appreciate involvement of all our membership, as well as the community in general, for the support we receive.
We are “your” chamber, and your input and involvement is always needed and appreciated.
