Prize money to be won at show

An early “Chamber Notes,” since I will be out of the office tomorrow.

I still want to emphasize the Car Show, scheduled for June 13 and 14, and this being our 20th Annual Show, it will be our best yet. The committee met again this past Tuesday, and we are all in sync that our plans will make it a great show.

We will be giving away more than $3,000 in cash prizes, along with trophies and door prizes. Friday evening’s Burnout Contest and Loud Pipe Contest are always crowd pleasers. Bleachers will be set up to watch the action that takes place alongside the Phillips 66 station at Lee Street and U.S. 62. Of course, admission is free to the public, and it only cost $10 if you want to see how much smoke or noise you can make. Cash and trophies will be presented the winners.

Our “Around Town Cruise” will follow, and again, random drawings for cash will be given out. Participation in the cruise is free and open to anyone. Saturday’s big show starts early, with food and merchandise vendors, music, entertainment, and great car show entries. Cash and trophies will be given winners in each of the three categories — car, truck, and motorcycle.

Special this year will be a “People’s Choice” award to one of the entries, chosen by the public as their favorite.

Also special this year, will be a Laser Tag area for the public to participate in.

Also, don’t forget, the drawing for the winner of the Limited Edition Rossi/Winchester 1892 rifle.

If you haven’t got your raffle ticket yet, they will be available for sale at both the Friday evening and Saturday event.

The drawing will take place at noon Saturday. All proceeds benefit the Fort Gibson Education Foundation.

Don’t miss this year’s spectacular Car Show event.
