It’s space week at the library this week. “Oklahomans in Space” traveling trunk from the Oklahoma History Center is on display this week at the “Q.” Hands-on items include an astronaut suit and helmet, flight suit, model rockets and capsules, mission patches, and more.
It also includes DVDs, children’s books, and curriculum guides, courtesy of NASA.
“Many people are surprised to learn that there are eight astronauts from Oklahoma and that our state plays a leading role in the aerospace industry,” said Dan Provo, director of the Oklahoma History Center.
Interactive educational activity is generously sponsored by internationally known Oklahoma singer and entertainer, Darla Z.
