Library also needs community support

Gifts to library are tax-deductible

Advancing knowledge. Inspiring life-long learning. Strengthening communities.

Every day, your local public library provides all of this and much more to the members of our community.

While the library receives much of its funding from public sources, it also relies on support from generous people in the community.

Your tax-deductible gift allows the library to provide critical services to the people who turn to us each and every day for help — whether they seek a book, a movie, a job, free Internet access, health insurance, a place to gather with friends or a connection with their community.

Your gift helps keep these vital services free for all.

One new hardback novel costs an average of $26.63.

One new children’s hardback book averages $19.03, not to mention the escalating costs of computers, databases, and staff members to help customers use them.

Costs just keep on rising, no matter what.

With you and the community in partnership, the libraries in Muskogee County: Muskogee, Fort Gibson, Haskell and Warner are committed to providing the highest quality library services.

Where else can your gift make such a difference in the lives of so many?

Monetary donations are always welcome and appreciated. Funds can be donated to the library’s general operations or designated for a particular area of interest. Funds donated to the library are used to support:

• Technology development.

• Children’s services.

• Programs and educational outreach.

• General library services.

• Books and other material.

Many people use the end of the year as a time to help various organizations that they support.

They figure tax liability, and rather than pay Uncle Sam, they write tax-deductible checks to nonprofit organizations.

A gift today will put your generosity to work immediately.

Each of the Muskogee County Libraries is a branch of Eastern Oklahoma District Library System, which is a 501(c)3 organization, and your donations may be tax deductible.
