Fort Gibson Soccer Club spring sign-ups will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Jan. 25 at the Fort Gibson Community Center. Cost is $60 and new players need to bring their birth certificate. Information:

NSU welcomes brass quintet

The Bravo Brass Quintet  will perform at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Northeastern State University Center for the Performing Arts as the fourth show of the Sequoyah Institute’s Galaxy of the Stars 2013-14 series.

This quintet was put together in 1993 and consists of two trumpets, one horn, one trombone and one tuba.

Bravo Brass will perform something for everyone with a full range of musical styles including baroque, light classics, jazz, contemporary and Broadway, according to a media release. In addition, their concert is peppered with music history, humor and audience/performer interaction.

Area school children have been invited to go “Beyond the Stage” for a matinee performance at 1 p.m. at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts. For information or to purchase tickets, contact the Sequoyah Institute at (918) 458-2075 or visit
