It is hard to believe that it is time to turn our attention to the 19th annual Car, Truck, & Motorcycle Show scheduled for June 14-15 in downtown Fort Gibson.
The Car Show Committee will start meeting in a couple weeks to formulate the plans to make this year's car show the biggest and best yet.
If anyone is interested in being part of the committee or just wants to get involved in the event in any way, give me a call and we can make it happen.
We are always ready for new ideas and fresh thoughts. We will continue with the always-poplar Burnout and Loud Pipe Contests sponsored by Fort Gibson Tire & Wheel on Friday evening followed by an "Around-the-Town" Car Parade/Cruise that is free for anyone to be part of in your special ride with cash drawings for those participating and a new award to the best "cruisin' entry."
Saturday features the car shown — highlighted by all-classes entries of cars, trucks, and motorcycles of all kinds and years.
Along with trophies, we are working to bring some very special prizes to this year's event. Of course music, entertainment, food, merchandise vendors and giveaways are always part of the Car Show, and this year will be no exception.
Mark your calendar now and don't miss this great local event that brings well over a thousand visitors to our town.

We have had great turnouts to our Weekly Chamber Luncheons being held at Simple Simon's Pizza for the month of February.
This past week found Lisa Clayton, Sue Edwards, Kathy Perkins, Mark Seabolt, Mark Young, Justin and Lauren Young with son Westin, Rhonda Lee, Beverlee Hammonds, Justin Calvert and myself in attendance.
Even Jim Huggins, who usually takes Thursdays off, was there because the place was filled with many taking their sweethearts to lunch on Valentine's Day.
It was a fun time for all, with plenty of great food and conversation. Come join us at 11:30 a.m. each Thursday.
We will remain at Simple Simon's for the month of February before moving to Subway for March.
We'd like to thank OG&E for their membership renewal this past week, and I want to correct a membership renewal by Cherokee Nation Businesses that I listed as Cherokee Nation Entertainment.
We appreciate all our chamber sponsors and the support that they provide. I'm excited to report that we have had several inquiries for new memberships this past week that I hope to be able to announce shortly.
Also, don't forget to mark your calendars for the Spring Fling For a Cause, 5K & Mile Run scheduled for March 30, benefiting Special Olympics.
For additional information on this annual event, call Lisa Walkingstick at (918) 869-0473 or Melody Stacy at (918) 348-5431. Always a great event for a great cause.
