September is National Library Card Sign-up month

September is National Library Card Sign-up Month. We’ll be giving away “Book Bucks” to everyone who signs up for a library card during September. Book Bucks can be spent on any item at our ongoing book sale.

If you or your children do not have a library card, now is the time to get one. Library cards are free and open doors to books, computers, movies, and more.

Students can use their library cards to access our free databases for homework help, to browse magazines or to download music. Databases can be accessed from home as well as the library.

Also in September, we will be taking pictures for our Geek the Library Campaign.

Everyone who has their picture taken will be entered into a drawing for a “What Do You Geek” T-shirt.

Beginning tonight, we will have computer classes for beginners from 6:30-7:30 Tuesday nights. Because of limited space, classes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We are also starting our Book a Librarian program on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

You will need to call to make an appointment for a one hour one-on-one session for help on a topic of your choice.

Don’t forget, we have a teen program every Tuesday at 4 p.m. and an afterschool activity for elementary kids every Thursday at 4 p.m.

See you soon at the “Q”!
