Q.B. Boydstun Library has expanded its services with eBooks available to download from the library’s website, according to a media release. Library card holders can check out and download eBooks anytime and anywhere by visiting the library’s website at http://www.eodls.lib.ok.us/ft_gibson.html
This service has been a long time coming,” said Branch Manager Rhonda Lee. “We are so happy to be able to offer free eBooks in addition to our many other services.”
Users may browse the library’s website, and check out with a valid library card. Users will need to install free software. To read eBooks, users will need Adobe Digital Editions. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod, Sony Reader, and many others. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees.
This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for patrons with their library card. Library staff members will demonstrate the service if users have a problem, Lee said.
With a network of 18,000 libraries and millions of readers, OverDrive is the global leader in eBooks for libraries.
