We had a great time at the Starlight Christmas Parade this past week. I’d like to thank four of our teens, David, Haylen, Jacob and Vaughn, who volunteered to ride in our Eastern Oklahoma District Library van during the parade and throw candy with us. They were great and we really appreciated their participation. The teen program is at 4 p.m. every Tuesday. If you haven’t attended a teen program recently, you’re missing a lot of fun making crafts and playing Mario games for Wii.
Winter weather interfered with craft time this past Thursday, so this Thursday we will be making Christmas crafts instead of Lego Club. We will have Lego Club on Dec. 26.
We have several new picture books about Christmas for parents and grandparents to read to their little ones. For fans of Otis the Tractor, we have An Otis Christmas by Loren Long. When a horse on the farm has complications when delivering her foal, Otis must through the snowy woods to bring back Doc Baker.
Little Santa by Jon Agee is a fictional biography of Santa Claus. Young Santa is a resident of the North Pole with the ability to slide up and down chimneys when he meets flying reindeer and some industrious elves.
We are enjoying our new Early Literacy Station. It not only has exciting games, it works with a mouse or touch screen. If you haven’t tried it yet, stop by the “Q” and check it out.
