Another batch of ornaments available for sale

By Gary Perkins
Chamber Notes

— All I can say, is "wow"! The response to this year's Fort Gibson Christmas ornament has been phenomenal.

As many of you have already found out, we sold out of the first batch that were ordered in less than two weeks time.

But, be at ease, we have ordered a second batch of the ornament, and they should be in the same selling places as before by Wednesday of next week.

Again, the places that will be selling the ornament featuring the Fort Gibson Grand River Bridge are: Fort Gibson State Bank, Armstrong Bank, Town Hall, SonBurst Graphics, Valu-Med Pharmacy, Granny's Porch, and the chamber office. These annual, collectible ornaments are on sale for only $10 and are the sixth in a series that began in 2008.

Many of you have inquired about the availability of some of the past ornaments, since interest has piqued in owning these unique Fort Gibson ornaments.

I do have a few of the previous year's ornaments, and if you are interested in owning any of these, give me a call at (918) 478-4780 or (918) 577-2069, and I will hold one for you.

They are priced at the same as our current ornament, $10.  Here's what I have: 2008, the State of Oklahoma — none; 2009, the John C. Berd Building — four; 2010, the National Cemetery — 10; 2011, the Historic Site — 5; 2012, Centennial Park — 40; and we will have plenty of this year's, 2013, the Grand River Bridge.

Again, if you are interested in any of these past ornaments, give me a call, and I will hold them for you while quantities last.

We want to thank J.D. McManus and his crew at Mac's Drive-Inn for their hospitality throughout the month of November for our Weekly Chamber Luncheons.

For the month of December, we will be holding our Weekly Chamber Luncheon at Charlie's Chicken here in Fort Gibson. Come join us at 11:30 a.m. each Thursday for this very informal and casual, non-business, get-together.

It's always great food, great company and interesting conversation.

See you there.
