Fort Gibson Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade students rallied together to share the spirit of Christmas in a special way this year.
The students learned of a fire that destroyed the Thompson family home in Fort Gibson. They were moved with compassion thinking that three little boys ages 5, 6, and 18-months were homeless and lost everything during this special season. They decided to make a difference. Students rallied together to get presents for the boys to make their Christmas a special time. They also generously gave more than $500 for expenses that the family would have. Even the bare essentials of clothing were not overlooked. The joy of giving filtered through the hallways.
Also students at the middle school adopted three children from the Angel Tree at Fort Gibson State Bank.
Truly the spirit of Christmas is alive in our students at Fort Gibson Middle School.
