Red and White game rescheduled to Thursday

— Submitted

Fort Gibson High’s 3rd annual Red and White Game will be held Thursday.

“This has really turned into a special event for not only our football program, but our entire community,” Coach James Singleton said in a media release.

“All of our support groups will be there — Rowdy Crowd, Cheer and band. We are also excited that this season we will have a reserved chair-back seating available to our fans for a minimal cost that we will start selling on Tuesday.”

Apparel sales and Custom Rowdy Crowd paddles also will be available for fans.

The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children. This is a fundraiser, so no employee passes are valid for the event.

Punt, pass and kick competition begins at 6 p.m. This is for kids ages 6 to 13 and participation is free. The age divisions are 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. Boys and girls will compete together. Prizes will be awarded.

A powder puff football game will take place with the high school girls beginning at 6:30 p.m.

An inflatable castle will be available for children 4 to 8 years old and will be free with admission.

A concession stand will be open.

Following the powder puff game will be the kick-off for the Red and White game for the varsity squad.

“The game is a great for our staff to evaluate our players under a Friday night-type of situation,” Singleton said. “We can then go back and correct errors in our last two spring practices.”
