What's New at the Q?
What is “True Grit?”
That’s the title of the “True Grit” Photography Contest.
Is it the Charles Portis novel “True Grit,” the two movies or is it a part of the American West?
The challenge of the contest is for you “to take your camera and go looking for the person or group; that place; that event that represents True Grit to you.
The rules for the contest can be picked up at any Eastern Oklahoma District Library System library including Fort Gibson.
The entry deadline is Jan. 3.
Prizes will be awarded for: Best in Show, First, Second, and Third Place. Prizes will be provided by Bedford Camera and Video.
A photography class will be held at the Fort Gibson Library at 6:45 tonight to answer questions about the contest and help attendees prepare for the contest.
The class is open to everyone.
We are planning a Hunger Games related activity for the week of Nov. 18 to 22 while we wait for the movie of the second book “Catching Fire” to be released.
We will be making Christmas cards for the next several weeks to take to the veterans at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center. Stop by and make a card.
See you soon at the “Q”!
