Chamber Notes: Chamber Banquet coming up soon

— By Gary Perkins

We have enjoyed some great turnouts to our Weekly Chamber Luncheon these past couple weeks at the Courtyard Bistro at 11:30 a.m. each Thursday.

Joining us for our luncheon recently have been: Lisa Clayton, Carol Milligan, Sue Edwards, Judy Sadler, and Kathy Perkins (all from Fort Gibson State Bank), Mark and Sherry Young from Edward Jones Investments, Justin and Lauren Young with son Westin (Justin works at the Clinkenbeard Insurance Agency and Lauren is a hair styling specialist), Justin Calvert and Samantha Bolding from Armstrong Bank, Tonia Cooper and Denise Bain from SonBurst Graphics, Cheryl Hill from Fort Gibson Public Schools, Rhonda Lee, Branch Manager at Q.B. Boydstun Public Library and myself, representing the Fort Gibson Chamber of Commerce.

Talk has included football, Mark and Sherry's new home, recent trips and New Year's activities, latest child pranks and achievements, politics, the upcoming Chamber Banquet, home projects, home-made hot sauce, grandkids, and recent town happenings and tragedies. It is always a good time with good food, good conversation, and great company.

As you know, we rotate restaurants in Fort Gibson each month. Give us a try if you haven't recently.

Speaking earlier of topics of conversation, our Annual Chamber Banquet is coming up at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 Three Forks Harbor.

Everyone is invited to attend this annual event. Invitations have gone out but if you missed receiving one, don't let that keep you from attending.

Festivities include a silent auction, buffet catered by Fajita Rita's, special entertainment, a special guest speaker and Teacher of the Year awards.

Cost is $20 per person, and is payable at the door. RSVP is not required. Plan on attending this annual get-together, when we introduce the new Board of Directors for 2013 and enjoy a very special night together.

If you have any questions, please let me know, (918) 478-4780 or (918) 577-2069, or by email at fortgibson@sbcglobal.net

The billings have gone out for the 2013 chamber memberships, and the following businesses/individuals, have already sent their membership investments in: Century 21-Clinkenbeard Agency, Herringshaw Waste Management, Charlie's Chicken of Fort Gibson, Precision Eye Care, Wright Stout & Wilburn, Frank and Carolyn Feldman, Perry Financial Services, Oklahoma Production Center-Old Depot, Simple Simon's Pizza of Fort Gibson, Fort Quick Stop, Bradley Funeral Services, Energy Tech Inc, Keith Hardware, Edward Jones Investments, Burrow Construction LLC (BCI), Briggs Rainbow Buildings Inc (BRB), and TM Manufacturing Inc.

We appreciate the prompt response from these chamber members, and look forward to hearing from all our supporters.

If you're not a member, and would like to be, just give me a call at the numbers mentioned earlier and we can fix you up and get you involved. Everything we do is for the economic development of the town and our supporters.
