Christmas ornaments available in limited quantity

The new Fort Gibson Christmas Ornaments are here! The new Fort Gibson Christmas Ornaments are here!

The ornaments for 2013, featuring the Fort Gibson Grand River Bridge, have been picked up and are now available at several locations throughout the community.

This is the sixth year that part of historic Fort Gibson has been featured on these ornaments, sponsored by the Fort Gibson Chamber of Commerce.

They are now available at: Fort Gibson State Bank, SonBurst Graphics, Armstrong Bank, Granny's Porch, Town Hall, and Valu-Med Pharmacy, for the price of $10.

Quantities are limited, so don't miss out on these future collector items.

As in years past, they will go fast.

Also, don't forget that our weekly Chamber luncheon for the month of November is being held at Mac's Drive-Inn each Thursday (except Thanksgiving Day, of course), at 11:30 a.m.

Our weekly luncheon is open to anyone and everyone.

This past Thursday, we had Lisa Clayton, Sue Edwards, Kathy Perkins, Cheryl Hill, Mark Young, Justin Young, with wife Lauren and son Westin, and myself in attendance. Come join us for this weekly, very casual and non-structured, get-together.

The food is always great, and the company even greater.

Plus, it is amazing what you learn from the casual conversation. Just saying...

One final reminder that our Starlight Christmas Parade is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 2.

Entry is free, and lineup will begin at around 6 p.m. at the Church of Christ parking lot on South Lee Street.

The theme this year is "A Magical Christmas," and we will be giving out plaques to the top business entry and non-profit entry. Anyone and everything are invited to participate in the parade that is approximately 1.5 miles in length, beginning at the Church of Christ, and traveling north on Lee Street to the intersection at Poplar Street, then east on Poplar to the old Fajita Rita's parking lot. Bleachers and the judge's booth will be set up around Centennial Park, with the lighting of the town Christmas tree happening prior to the start of the parade. As always, look for Jolly Ole St. Nick to be part of the parade, and there always seems to be plenty of candy and other treats passed out to the kids along the parade route. Don't miss this fun, family-oriented, annual event. For additional information, give me a call at (918) 577-2069.
