Published July 16, 2008 01:35 am - Area players named to watch list Ten area high school football players are on the Mr. Football Oklahoma Award watch list released Tuesday.
The list is divided between players in Classes 6A to 3A and 2A to C. The 6A-3A players include Muskogee’s Erik Howell and Robert Thomas along with Gus Jones of Wagoner and Jessie Morrison of Tahlequah. Vian’s Tyren Samuels and David Thornton, Eufaula’s Carson Daniel, Sequoyah’s Chris Littlehead, Webbers Falls’ A.J. Mc Farland and Midway’s Jake Stoneberger are the 2A-C players. Howell, Jones, Morrison, Daniel and McFarland are linebackers. Thomas, Littlehead, Thornton and Stonebarger are linemen and Samuels is a defensive back.
