Softball

HASKELL 10, OKTAHA 0 — Haskell jumped up early and blew the game open with a five-run fourth at Haskell.

Macy Moore was 3-for-3 with two RBIs on the day. Charity Jernigan, Jodi Edmiston and Amber Moats all had two hits for the Lady Haymakers (9-5).

Oktaha had three hits.


SEQUOYAH 5, VIAN 0 — Winning pitcher Courtney Glass struck out three batters and relief pitcher Dee Adai also struck out three as the Lady Indians (12-4) beat the Lady Wolverines at Vian.

Saharra henson had a home run and a sacrifice to drive in two runs. Caitlin Dry and Chelsea Campbell added two hits each.

Sequoyah plays in the Westville Tournament today through Thursday.


WARNER WINS TWO — The Lady Eagles (7-5) beat Okay 14-0 and Sallisaw Central 9-1 before losing to Keys 4-2 in the championship game of Sallisaw Central Tournament at Warner on Monday. The tourney was rained out Saturday and shifted to Warner to wrap it up.

Macy Carman had five hits, scored three runs and drove in two others for the day. Freshman Michaela Vail had five hits. Kaitlyn Teague (5-1) pitched against Central and Keys, striking out 17 batters in 11 innings.

Warner travels to Quinton in a three-way that includes Whitesboro at 4:30 p.m. today.


Baseball

OKTAHA SPLITS — The Tigers (8-2) shook off a 13-1 loss to Red Oak and roared back with an 8-0 win over Stuart at Red Oak’s diamond on Monday.

The game with Red Oak was for the Red Oak Tournament title after being postponed by rain on Saturday. Cale Elam (1-1) was the losing pitcher and Daniel Hayes had a hit and scored a run.

In beating Stuart, Cameron Proctor (3-0) struck out eight batters and gave up one hit. Cale Elam had three hits including two doubles and a solo home run. Shane Leach and Steven Downum each had an RBI double and single.

Oktaha plays host to Dale at 4:30 p.m. today.


Volleyball

SEQUOYAH SWEEPS — Led by Kaylae Sourjohn and Anaweg Smith, the Lady Indians (4-3) defeated the Hulbert Lady Riders in three straight games (25-12, 25-14, 25-18) at the Sequoyah gym.

Sourjohn had six kills and two aces, while Smith, a defensive specialist in the match, had 10 digs. Laurin Keen added four aces.

Sequoyah plays host to Okay at 5 p.m. today.
