Prep softball roundup: FGHS captures Oologah title

Lady Roughers win

Muskogee won both its games on Saturday in the Carl Albert Tournament, run-ruling Shawnee 9-1 and beating three-time defending Class 3A champion Little Axe 7-1.

Shaylee Rowland won the first game for the Lady Roughers (22-4), improving to 15-4 on the year, scattering four hits while striking out two. Lexi Watson kept her record perfect at 7-0 with the win over Little Axe, also scattering four hits with eight strikeouts.

Watson had a good day at the plate for the day as she was 5-for-7 in the two games with a home run, her fourth of the year, two doubles, three runs scored and five runs batted in. Carlee Gann was 4-for-7 on the day with three RBIs while Dee Emarthle was 3-for-7 with a double, two runs scored and one RBI as the Lady Roughers had seven batters have multi-hit games on Saturday.

The Lady Roughers next play at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Bartlesville.
