Wagoner baseball to re-name field

— Wagoner High School will re-name its baseball field on Friday after former Wagoner resident Willis Hudlin.

Hudlin, who was born in Wagoner in 1906 died in Little Rock, Ark., in 2002. He was signed by the Waco Cubs of the Texas League in 1924. When the New York Yankees let his option run out, Hudlin was purchased by the Cleveland Indians in 1926 and pitched for the Indians until 1940.

The festivities begin at 3:45 p.m. Friday and the public is invited.
