Slug-Out softball slate adds a venue

The 26th annual Muskogee Slugout softball tourney has undergone a schedule adjustment as rains which began Tuesday have continued and are expected into today.

Today’s pool games will be played Friday at Tahlequah High School’s field rather than at Rougherettes Park. Friday’s pool games remain unaffected.

Red Oak, Muldrow, Stilwell and Union will join Tahlequah in play at Tahlequah while Muskogee will play host to Sequoyah, Jenks, Poteau and Westmoore.

The field is one of the most competitive among tournaments on this side of the state. Westmoore heads east with the No. 2 ranking in Class 6A. Tahlequah, Union, Muskogee and Jenks are 4-7, Poteau is 10th and Stilwell is 14th.

Sequoyah, the defending 5A champions, is ranked sixth in that classification and Red Oak is the top-ranked team in Class A.
