Hilldale at Sequoyah (PREVIEW)

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Radio: KTLQ 1350 AM

Records: Sequoyah 4-4, 2-2; Hilldale 6-2, 3-1 3A-7.

Last week: Hilldale 54, Keys 20; Jay 48, Sequoyah 14.

Last meeting: Sequoyah 28, Hilldale 0 (later forfeited, 2012).

About the matchup: Hilldale has a playoff berth clinched and is playing for position with slight hopes of winning the district depending on the Locust Grove-Lincoln Christian outcome. Sequoyah  could clinch a postseason berth with a win Friday and a Keys victory over Jay but a loss could cripple their chances. Hilldale QB Chandler Puckett has 1,659 yards passing and 18 TDs. Bradley Campbell is second in the state in receiving and could pass 1,000 yards this week (46 catches, 889 yards, 10 TDs). For Sequoyah, running back Justin Hooper had 972 yards on the season, an average of 118 yards rushing per game. Zach Parish, the quarterback, has 1,343 yards passing but is completing passes at a 45.5 percent rate. His top target is Caisen Green (38-705).

Series record:
Hilldale leads, 3-0, counting the forfeiture of last season’s contest.

Notes: Hilldale won the first meeting in 1980, 3-0…The Hornets are 2-2 on the road this season…The 14 points scored last week were the fewest for an Indians team in the regular season since a 21-13 loss to Holland Hall in 2007.
