Three Rivers sweeps twinbill

Three Rivers Bandits’ MacKaine Foster struck out 16 in tossing a one-hit shutout as the area American Legion squad beat Okmulgee 2-0 en route to a doubleheader sweep at Okmulgee on Wednesday.

The Bandits won game 2, 10-1 and are 6-0 on the year.

Jack Christian’s squeeze bunt scored Tim Smithson in the fourth inning and Smithson’s sacrifice fly scored Colby Hougal with the other run in the fifth. Huval and Christian were both 2-for-3.

In the nightcap, Dillon Guffey threw four innings, allowing three hits, for the win. Caleb Knight and A.J. Deason each had two hits. Foster had one hit but drove in three runs.

Three Rivers is at Muskogee for a doubleheader with the Roughers summer squad starting at 5 p.m.
