Girls basketball

Sequoyah 62, Henryetta 30 – Loren Young scored 15 points as Class 3A No. 4 Sequoyah controlled throughout. Cenia Hayes and Jhonett Cookson both added 10 points apiece for Sequoyah (10-1).

Henryetta led 3-0 in the first quarter on Hanna Gouge's 3-pointer from the right wing, but Sequoyah responded with a 9-0 run and never looked back.

Sequoyah will have a quick turnaround with a game in Tulsa at noon today in the BOK Center against Jay.

CHECOTAH 52, OKMULGEE 51 — No other details were available.

MORRIS 86, HASKELL 58 – At Haskell, DeNora Wheeland scored 24 out of Haskell’s 58 points as the Lady Haymakers fell to Morris. Haskell (2-9) will play at Eufaula on Monday.

COLLINSVILLE 63, TAHLEQUAH 41 – At Collinsville, despite the scoring efforts of Marisa Girdner and Kasady Glory with 10 points each, the Lady Tigers fell to Collinsville. Tahlequah (4-7) will play Moore in the Moore Tournament next Thursday.

VIAN 67, WARNER 37 –  Host Vian took a 20-2 lead in the first quarter and led 44-8 at the half. Leading the Wolverines was  Nese Walters with 16 points, Erica Casey with 14 and Desiree Moon with 13. Chelsea Anderson, Kaylee Mathews, and Raven Girty combined to score 32 of Warner’s 37 points. Vian (5-0) will play at Oktaha at 4:30 p.m. today. Warner (8-3) will play Gore in the Porum Invitational at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.   

CENTRAL 52, GORE 34 – At Gore, Jade Cearley had 11 points for the winless Lady Pirates.  Central led 32-10 at the half. Gore (0-10) will play Warner in the Porum Tournament at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

STIGLER 64, HEAVENER 49 – At Stigler, Nina Echelle scored 24 points to lead the Lady Panthers to a convincing win over Heavener. Stigler led 15-6 at the end of the first quarter and continued to build upon their strong start all the way to the win. The Lady Panthers (8-4) will host Sallisaw on Tuesday.

HULBERT 46, OKAY 30 – At Okay, Megan Cox scored 17 points to lead the Lady Riders to victory over Okay. Hulbert (7-4) will host Choteau Tuesday. Okay (3-8) will host Vian Tuesday.

OOLOGAH 51, WAGONER 46 – The Lady Bulldogs kept it close but couldn’t hang on. Wagoner (3-6) will host Grove Monday.

PORUM 44, PORTER 43 – Katie McCullar had 14 points for the Lady Panthers (11-3), who held off Porter in the final minutes. Dominique Garcia had 17 points and Kalli Jones 10 for the Lady Pirates.  Porum will play McCurtain in the Porum Invitational Tuesday.

BEGGS 70, EUFAULA 56 – At Eufaula, the Lady Ironheads fell at home to Beggs. Eufaula (4-6) will host Kelleyville tonight.

MIDWAY 54, BRAGGS 29 – At Braggs, the Lady Chargers came out of the gate with their foot on the  pedal as they took a 20-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Morgan Hayes led the way with 23 points and Brittanie Barnard had 10 points. Jaycie Ray had 10 points and 7 rebounds for Braggs. Midway (9-5) will play Kinta in the Porum Invitational at 7:10 p.m. Monday. Braggs (4-10) will play at Gans Tuesday.

WEBBERS FALLS 57, GANS 51 – At Gans, Autumn Cato scored 17 points, and Cammie Farrar scored 12 points to help the Lady Warriors capture the win. Webbers Falls (7-8) will travel to Porter on Tuesday.  

Wrestling

ROUGHER IN FINALS — Muskogee’s Jacobe Smith was the lone Rougher to make the finals at the Sand Springs Invitational. The finals are at 4 p.m. today.
