Vian captures Ripley title

Brett Hooper came on in relief to hold Class B No. 3 Leedey to one hit over the final 2 1/3 innings to lead Vian over Leedey 6-5 in the finals of the Ripley tournament on Saturday.

Hooper (1-0) came on in relief of Shawn Troutman who worked 4 2/3 innings and scattered three hits while striking out six.

Dalton Morris was 2-for-2 for the Class 3A No. 5 Wolverines (12-1) with one run scored, Rylee Simon was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Landon Decker drove in two runs.
