Baseball

WARNER 11, PRESTON 6 – Levi Jones had four RBIs, including a grand slam, Gage Sparrow had a solo home run and Garrett Rice was 3-for-4 for Warner as the Eagles won at home over Preston on Monday. Clayton Kilpatrick (2-3) was the winning pitcher for Warner (12-14).

STIGLER 9, CHECOTAH 2 – Cameron Highfill had two RBIs and one run scored and Seth Sandlin hit a solo shot, his fifth home run of the year, as the Panthers defeated Checotah on the road. Austan Drewry earned the win on the mound for Stigler (16-11).

WAGONER 12, OKMULGEE 2 – The Bulldogs benefited from an offensive outburst from Roman Rodriguez, Malcolm Rodriguez, Joe Charboneau, and Preston Whitten with two hits each. Charboneau was the winning pitcher for Wagoner (20-6).

VIAN 13, PANAMA 5 – Class 3A No. 6 Vian won handily at home thanks to Rylee Simon’s four RBIs and Denver Coffee’s three RBIs and three scored runs. Jay Frazier (2-0) earned the win on the mound for Vian (24-5).

OOLOGAH 8, FORT GIBSON 1 – Stats were not available at press time.

Boys golf

CLASS 3A QUALIFIERS – The Keys Cougars posted a team score of 351 to finish second in the qualifier at Cherokee Trails on Monday, advancing to next week’s regional at Scissortail Golf Club in Verdigris. Shae Heble led the way with a 79 followed by Kris Beres (85), Zach Rogers (91), Larry Caviness (96) and Alex Thompson (115). Individually, Tanner Ridge of Sequoyah moves on as a top-six finisher from a non-advancing team, posting a 94 to tie for second.

 At Fountainhead Creek, Stigler grabbed second with a team score of 347 while Eufaula came in third at 367. Lane Stanfield posted Stigler’s low score with an 81 with Gibson McAlvain (87), Levi Moss (88), Tyas Mitchell (91) and Tyler Edge (95) completing the Panthers’ scores. Eufaula saw Luke VanCleade shoot an 80 with Mason Dobbs (90), Clay Ridge (93), Ethan White (104) and Chris Rhodes (114) rounding out the Ironheads’ scores.

CLASS 2A QUALIFIER – No scores were reported from the qualifier at Clary Fields in Sapulpa in which Gore and Haskell participated.
