HILLDALE 16, SPIRO 7 – Hilldale run-ruled 3A No. 4 Spiro on the road in a final tuneup for Thursday’s Class 4A districts at Checotah. Derek Altman went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

3A DISTRICTS – Sequoyah defeated Keys 9-5 in game one, and Keys defeated Sequoyah 7-3 in game two. Stats were not available at press time.

Slowpitch softball

MUSKOGEE SWEEPS – The Lady Roughers defeated Fort Gibson handily in a doubleheader on Tuesday. Muskogee won 12-2 in game one with Shaylee Rowland going 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Dee Emarthle going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a triple. The Lady Roughers won game two 14-4 with Rowland hitting a home run, Emarthle with a home run and three RBIs, Brook Hendrickson with two RBIs, and Tyler Pippin with an RBI. Rowland pitched both games for Muskogee (23-9).

Miranda Cherry and Kelsey Hornback were both 2-for-3 for Fort Gibson in game one. Kyla Martin and Izzy Hubburt were both  2-for-4 in the second game. The Lady Tigers head into Thursday’s regionals 9-12.

Girls tennis

UNION TOURNAMENT — Muskogee’s No. 2 doubles pair of Laura Jardine and Abby Wayman went 2-2, losing in the consolation championship. Timberleigh McGee and Jensen Martin were 1-3 in No. 1 and 2 singles and Claire Farmer and Alexis Rosson were 1-3 in No. 1 doubles.

Boys golf

BARTLESVILLE INVITATIONAL — Tahlequah was third (634) and Muskogee fifth (655) at the 36-hole Bartlesville Invitational on Monday. Tahlequah’s Blake Berry was third with rounds of 73 and 78. Jake Johnson shot 75-80—155. For Muskogee, Harris Jones (82-75—157) led the way with Spencer Smythe (80-79—159) just behind him. union won with a 624 and Holden Crago of Bixby shot 148 with rounds of 78 and 70 to win top honors.
