LIBERTY TOURNAMENT — Haskell moved to 2-0 with a 78-58 win over Liberty as Alex Wheeland scorched the nets for 30 points, Micah Hayes added 20 and Wes Davis 12. Haskell plays Lincoln Christian in a semifinal set for 8:30 p.m. Friday but the tournament is in a holding pattern due to the impending weather conditions.
Trailing into the fourth quarter in the first round of the Liberty Tournament, Okay (2-5) took the lead briefly with three minutes to play but with it a one-point game with 1:00 to play, watched Beggs put it away with a 3-pointer and 3 of 4 free throws and won 75-68.
Mustangs freshman Darius Riggs scored 27 points for his fifth game of 20 or more points. Zac Cagle added 15 points and Kaleb Pierce had 12.
Okay will play Kellyville next.
GREENLEAF INVITATIONAL — Oaks and host Porum advanced to Saturday’s 8:30 p.m. final. Oaks beat Hulbert 57-45 behind Michael Thompson’s 24 points and Porum beat Webbers Falls 49-22 as Austin Wright led with 19 points. For Hulbert, Rico Wynn had 13 and for Webbers, Hunter Bray had eight in losing causes. Hulbert and Webbers will play for third place at 5:30 p.m.
Braggs beat Kinta 59-47 behind Payton York’s 24 points and Brody Igert’s triple-double (18 points, 12 rebounds, 10 steals). Rowdy Ensminger had 15 points. The Wildcats improved to 3-3 and will play for the consolation championship against Porter at 2:30 p.m. Saturday against Porter, which beat Gore 36-35 on a 3-pointer at the buzzer by Cole Winkle, who with Matt Garcia had nine points each. Wayne Shanks had 11 for Gore.
BUCKNER 58, MIDWAY 40 — Alexa Miner led Midway (2-2) with 11 points, the only Lady Charger in double figures, in a semifinal loss at the Wilson Tournament. Midway led 16-9 after one quarter, fell into a halftime tie at 18 apiece, then never led in the second half. Midway will play for third place against Hanna at 3:40 p.m. Saturday.
LIBERTY TOURNAMENT — Lincoln Christian beat Okay 52-26. Okay (1-4) had 12 points from Kyndra Whiteday. Haskell lost to Beggs 75-41 as DeNora Wheeland had 18 for Haskell.
GREENLEAF INVITATIONAL — Tiffany Thompson scored 17 points to help Hulbert past Porum and into Saturday’s 7 p.m. final against Oaks, who got a 22-point performance from Shawnee Watkins in a 48-12 victory against Webbers Falls. Porum’s Katie McCullar led all scorers against Hulbert with 19 and Kori Lindsey had 18. Autumn Cato had 8 for Webbers, who will get Porum in the third-place game at 4 p.m.
Consolation winners were Braggs and Kinta, who move into a 1 p.m. contest on Saturday. Braggs got 12 points from Kay Igert in beating Gore 38-27 and Kinta got 21 from Brittany Tomfor in downing Porter 43-32.
