Muskogee High’s wrestlers sit in fifth place in the team standings after Friday’s action of the Yukon Tournament. trailing Collinsville, Allen (Texas), Edmond North and Perry, respectively.

Dewaylon Barnes and Jacobe Smith were victorious in their bouts as Barnes won by decision over Dylan Helm of Collinsville 8-7, and Smith defeated Matt Thomas of Perry 12-6. Chase Soper lost on a technical fall to Boo Lewallen of Yukon 23-7 while J.T. Andrews was decisioned by Jose Pacheco of Deer Creek 4-2.

On the consolation side, Xavier Taylor pinned Adam Poppadolpalous of Edmond North while Micah Foster decisioned Grant Ballard of Mustang 6-4.

Action continues today.


HENRYETTA 57, SEQUOYAH 54 — The Indians (8-5) lost a tight one to the Knights after leading 32-31 at the half. Ryan Helsley had 15 points and Caisen Green 13.

SKIATOOK 62, TAHLEQUAH 61 — Dalton Cunningham had 14 points and Jake Vader 13 but the Tigers fell to Skiatook in overtime. A.J. Surrite led the Bulldogs and all scorers with 25 points.

EUFAULA 83, HASKELL 77 — The Ironheads (8-6, 4-1) won an overtime Big Eight Star Conference game against the Haymakers (4-9, 1-4).

The Ironheads had four players in double figures. Daxton Williams had 23 points, Cody Faries finished with 20, Devin Garfield 19 and Devin Siers had 12.

Alex Wheeland led all scorers for Haskell with 27 and Dillan Dobbins had 14.

HULBERT 50, VIAN 46 – The Riders held off the Vian Wolverines after trailing by one point at the half of their game on Friday. Hulbert (9-6, 4-1 Big Eight) were led by Mason Fielden who poured in 19 points. Carig Potts was the only other Rider in double figures with 10 points.

Vian (4-5, 2-2) saw Shane Ross as the only Wolverine in double figures as he finished with 10 points. Hulbert doesn’t play again until Jan. 28 when it hosts Warner. Vian plays Sallisaw Central at 8 p.m. today.

CHECOTAH 51, BEGGS 47 – The WIldcats ( 8-6, 5-1) got a Big Eight Star Conference win over the Demons. The leading scorer for the Wildcats was Cameron Pipe with 12 points.
