Prep basketball roundup and schedule


WARNER 38, GORE 33, OT – The Eagles (12-9, 3-5 Big Eight) trailed at the half 16-13 before outscoring Gore (10-10, 4-6) 13-8 in the third quarter. The  Pirates won a low-scoring fourth quarter, outscoring Warner 6-4 to force overtime tied 30-all.

Tim Smithson had 10 points to lead Warner. Gore had no players in double figures.

PRYOR 56, TAHLEQUAH 52 — Lain Wright had 22 points for the Tigers (7-13, 4-7 Metro Lakes) who came up short against Pryor. David Dick added 11 points for Tahlequah.

LOCUST GROVE 91, WAGONER 44 – Locust Grove outscored Wagoner (9-13,4-9 Verdigris Valley) 47-19 in the first half. Ya’Aquoob King lead the Bulldogs with 17 points and Lateze Clayton had 11 points/

HULBERT 67, WESTVILLE 65, 2 OT — The Riders (12-10) rallied from 11 down in the fourth to force overtime and then won it in the second extra session, outscoring Westville 6-4. For Hulbert, Mason Fielden had 19, Rico Wynn 17 and Brandon Thompson 12.

VERDIGRIS 54, SEQUOYAH 47 — The Indians dropped a road game at Verdigris. No details were available. Caisen Green had 19 points and B.J. Green had 16 for the Indians

HASKELL 76, KELLYVILLE 71 – Four Haymakers had double figure scoring as they rallied from a 41-29 halftime deficit. Alex Wheeland and Dillon Dobbins had 17 points each with Dobbins scoring 12 in the second half. Wes Davis had 15 points and Chris Wright 12 for Haskell, now 9-13.

CLASS A DISTRICTS — Webbers Falls ended its season with a 42-39 loss to Weleetka at Weleetka.

Porum beat Haileyville but no score was available.

CLASS B DISTRICTS — At Braggs, Braggs lost to Bluejacket 82-61, ending its season at 10-15. Payton York had 33 points in the loss with Tatem Livingston adding 12.  Midway (1-19) lost at Moyers to Wapunucka 49-42 after trailing 41-24 at the half. Roper Selby had 30 for the Chargers, who ended their season after a 10-3 rally fell short in the fourth.


STIGLER 47, HEAVENER 41 – The Lady Panthers (9-12, 6-3) won a   physical Black Diamond Conference game against the Lady Wolves. Stigler was led by Mackenzie Maxwell with 19 points and Nina Echelle who had 11 points of her own.

KELLYVILLE 65, HASKELL 42 – Haskell (10-11, 3-7 Eight Star) trailed 36-13 at halftime on Senior Night. The lone double-figure scorer for Haskell was Denora Wheeland with 10 points.

WARNER 39, GORE 19 – The Lady Eagles (9-12, 4-5 Big Eight) outscored Gore 27-4 in the first half. Nine players scored for Warner with Kaylee Matthews leading with 8 points.

WESTVILLE 50, HULBERT 49 — The Lady Riders (14-8) were up 49-48 with 3.3 seconds left and a traveling call led to a Westville putback for the win. Tiffany Thompson had 26 points, 15 of those points from the 3-point line.

LOCUST GROVE 57, WAGONER 41 – The Lady Bulldogs (3-19,1-12 Verdigris Valley) trailed 23-19 at the half before the Lady Pirates (14-7) pulled away. Kristen Robbins had a game-high 22 points for Wagoner.

VERDIGRIS 51, SEQUOYAH 49 — No other information was available at press time.

CLASS B DISTRICTS — At Braggs, the Lady Wildcats (6-17) ended their season with a 71-56 loss to Cave Springs after leading at the half, 34-33. Cassi Harris led Braggs with 18 points followed by Jaycie Ray with 13.

Webbers Falls beat Mason 52-38 and Porum beat Haileyville 56-33. No stats were available at press time.
