Bishop Kelley 7,
A dominant first half from the top-ranked Lady Comets was all it took for them to walk away with a win. They jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first 12 minutes with goals from Mackenzie Yozzo, Katie Greenwell, Maggie Ertl and Ellie Chapple.
The Lady Roughers got their first and only goal with 21:20 left in the first when Zoe Huffer would act off a loose ball that slipped through the legs of Bishop Kelley’s goalkeeper. Muskogee almost had a second goal in the last seconds when Kylie McKinney broke away and missed wide left.
"It took us a while to get in the game but this is a tough team,” said MHS coach Curt Denton. “They are the defending state champions. I'm proud of my girls. They never quit fighting. When you are still trying to score with 8 seconds left, that is what you want to see."
Cassidy Drabek had 10 saves for the Lady Roughers in the first half. Ashlie Tull took over keeper duties in the second half and racked up seven saves.
