Prep slowpitch softball

PORUM 20, OKAY 3 – The Lady Panthers improved to 7-0 with the win over the Lady Mustangs.

Makala Tillery (7-0) got the win in the circle and was also 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a solo home run in the second inning, her first of the season.

Mallory Smith was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs to lead Porum while Katie McCullar 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

College baseball

BACONE 6-3, MID-AMERICA 1-1 – The Bacone Warriors improved to 22-8 on the season with the sweep of Mid-America Christian at Warrior Field on Tuesday.

Kyandi Ortiz (2-0) got the win in the opener, pitching six innings and scattering five hits while striking out seven while Jesse Fish earned his first save of the season. Anthony Seabolt was 1-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the way.

In the nightcap it was Eric Aguillard (4-1) with the decision, tossing five innings and giving up three hits with three strikeouts. Wade Morten and Jean Ortiz were both 2-for-3 with one run scored while Eric Folkers was 1-for-2 with one run scored and two RBIs.

College softball

CONNORS 16-9, LAMAR STATE 7-4 – The Connors State softball team wrapped up its Texas swing on Tuesday as the Cowgirls swept a doubleheader from Lamar State.

The Cowgirls are now 15-19 for the year and will return home to play Western Oklahoma State next Tuesday in a doubleheader.

Amanda O’Neal took the win in the opener in relief. Sammy Perry led the way with a 3-for-3 performance, which included two doubles and a triple. Tahlequah ex Whittney Whittmore pounded out three base hits, which included a double and three RBIs. O’Neal helped her own cause with two hits, including a two-run homer.

The second game was also all Cowgirls as Jessica Christian took the win inside the circle. Ashley Dunigan and Hilldale exes Kali Romine and Erin Isham had two hits each in the game. Dunigan stole three bases in the twin bill to add to a stolen base total on the season, which tops 30.
