MHS TAKE EIGHTH — Muskogee’s Hannah Jones shot an 86 as the Lady Roughers finished eighth in a 16-team field at the Owasso Tournament. Muskogee shot a 382, while Tulsa Union won the tournament with a 295.

Jones shot 41 through the first nine holes and 45 on the back nine.

The other Lady Roughers and their scores included Sydnie Rosson (98), Katie Matthews (101), Haley Schuler (97) and Brittany Felts (102).


BARTLESVILLE 3, MUSKOGEE 1 (GIRLS) – The Muskogee Lady Roughers (2-5) fell to the Bartlesville Lady Bruins with Morgan Springborn scoring Muskogee’s only goal.

STILWELL 6, PORTER 0 (GIRLS) –  The Lady Pirates (3-6) were only able to muster four shots on goal in the loss to Stilwell. Kelci Riley was in goal for Porter and had 13 saves.

VICTORY CHRISTIAN 5, HILLDALE 1 – The Hornets lost to Victory Christian which dropped their record to 2-9. Hunter Woods was the lone scorer for the Hornets. Michael Breckon was in goal for Hilldale and recorded eight saves.

GORE 8, GANS 7 – After trailing 5-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth, the Lady Pirates (1-14) won in extra innings against Gans. Autumn Johnson began the rally with a bases-loaded triple and scored the tying run on Faith Byrd’s single, then Gore won the game with three runs in the eighth. Abby Brown was the winning pitcher improving to 1-14. Byrd was 4-for-4 with an RBI.

FORT GIBSON 5-9, STILWELL 6-7 – The Lady Tigers (5-9) split a doubleheader against Stillwell. Fort Gibson led 2-0 in the first game when Stillwell hit two home runs and scored four runs. In the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Tigers had the game-tying run on second but couldn’t bring it home.

In the second contest, Fort Gibson was down 6-3 in the top of the fifth when Isabelle Hubbert hit a three-run home run to take the lead. Sage Stout was the top hitter for the game going 2-for-3 with a double. Taylor Cosby was the pitcher in both games as her record moved to 5-8.

BRAGGS 3-7, OKAY 1-2 – The Braggs Lady Wildcats (18-5)  swept the doubleheader against Okay. In the first game, Makayla Coen went 3-for-3 with an RBI and Lauren Burk went 1-for-3. In the second game, Maggie Swarthout went 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored and Crissy Perry went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Swarthout recorded two wins which improved her record to 16-4.

VIAN 15, CENTRAL 11 – The Lady Wolverines (6-4) won behind the strong bat of Joehanna Morris. Morris was 2-for-2 with a grand slam home run which gives her 12 home runs on the year. Jaden Bolin was the winning pitcher for Vian her record is now 6-4.

CHECOTAH 3, BEGGS 0 – Wyatt Hatridge pitched a one-hit shutout to lead Checotah over Beggs. Hatridge (4-2) gave up zero runs and struck out two. Checotah’s record moved to 13-7 for the season.

WARNER 16, MIDWAY 4 —  Raven Girty had two hits, drove in four runs with a double and a triple, while Carley Lyons had two doubles and two RBIs as the Lady Eagles (11-5) beat the Lady Chargers. Brandie Center was the winning pitcher. Warner begins play in the Big Eight Conference Tournament on Thursday.

STIGLER 3, PORUM 0 — Bailey Bryant (8-4) outdueled Makala Tiller (12-3) in the circle as Stigler (8-4) downed Porum (15-3). Bryant had two hits, while Tillery had two hits. Chris Copeland and Nina Echelle each had a hit for Stigler, while Katie McCullar and Tabby Lane had hits for Porum.
