Festival of Champs starts today

The field is covered and with the rain coming to an end, Muskogee softball’s second event in as many weekends gets underway today.

Three defending state champions — Dale in 4A, Rattan in 3A and Red Oak in A will join locals Tahlequah and of course Muskogee in the Hamlin's-TTCU Festival of Champions. All three defending champs come in as the current No. 1 in their respective classes in the polls. Moore, tops in 6A, will give the event three of the top four in the top classification. Tahlequah is No. 3 and Muskogee No. 4 in 6A..

Today’s schedule: Red Oak vs. Arapaho, noon; Rattan vs. Red Oak, 1:30 p.m.; Arapaho vs. Tahlequah, 3 p.m.; Union vs. Rattan, 4:30 p.m.; Tahlequah vs. Dale, 6 p.m.; Union vs. Dale, 7:30 p.m.

Friday’s schedule:: Muskogee vs. Southmoore, noon; Poteau vs. Southmoore, 1:30 p.m.; Muskogee vs. Moore, 3 p.m.; Jenks vs. Moore, 4:30 p.m.; Poteau vs. Norman, 6 p.m.; Jenks vs. Norman, 7:30 p.m.
