STATE TENNIS: Area doubles pairs wrap seasons

The two remaining area entries in the OSSAA Tennis Championships at Oklahoma City Tennis Center wrapped up play on Saturday, both in No. 1 doubles.

In 6A, after splitting their two matches on Friday, Muskogee’s Kaliegha Fields and Alexis Rosson lost to Union’s Brooklyn Pearson and Ashton Wilburn 6-1, 6-1 in the consolation quarterfinals.

Tahlequah’s Karson Heist and Katie Schiefelbein finished seventh in Class 5A. They beat McKenzie Lumry and Emily Stobbe of Shawnee 6-3, 6-2 in a consolation quarterfinal then lost in the semifinals 6-1, 6-4 to Jacque Dukes and Nicolle Hoose of Cascia Hall. They then beat Menee Thompson and Jennifer Amy of McAlester 7-5, 6-2.
